Story Lesson using computer
I have no other options than to use my own laptop
to teach any lesson using ICT in the classrooms. The school being remote and
without excess the modern amenities is really challenging to use latest ICT
facilities. Beside all with few teachers and students such facilities are
beyond afford. The mobile network itself is very poor at this place which is
disadvantage.
However, I am
trying to use the available ICT skills and resources that are in the school and
my personal. Today with much thinking I taught story in class V and VI using my
laptop. The story was sent to school from REC.
At the end of
the story children were made to answer the following questions.
- How many characters are there in the story?
- Who is the main character in the story?
- What is the moral of the story?
- Which character did you like most? Why?
- Which character you did not like? Why?
They were given
10 minutes to complete the writing activity. Then they were asked to compare
and discuss their answers in their team for another 10 minutes. Towards the end
of the lesson children were made to read their answers to the whole class.
It was amazing
to see children have understood the story. I realized, I could have given them
more interesting task like taking the role of the characters from the story and
made them to act short skit based on the story “Rapunzel”.
Children enjoying the story
