ICT in the classroom

Infused ICT skills

For the purpose of teaching effectively I used my ICT skills learned during my residential class for my DE. I remembered ICT tutor taught us (DE candidates) how to create animations for rainfall. A day before my demonstration in the class, I had to practice few times so, that my lesson didn’t fail.

I took my laptop in the class whereby children were very eager to see what I was going to teach or show them. I made them to predict about the lesson. Many of them told me it would be short video clip. All were equally excited to have my presentation about creating animation on rainfall.

It would have been much better had I presented using projector, but school couldn’t afford to have such facilities. Not even computers for children to explore their own learning.

The class was very silent throughout the lesson. All the 24 eyes glued onto my laptop screen. Many were lost in watching how it was happening. I could hear “Yaala, Yaala” (a sharchop word to express surprise).

After the demonstration was made I asked few children to express their interest in ICT. “YES” was their response but without computers made them “NO” to ICT.
